Children from 0 to 12 years of age are particularly vulnerable on the road. 75 children were killed and 4 058 were injured in traffic accidents in 2015. French children are the ones most affected by road accidents whether as car passengers or as pedestrians.
This situation is all the more unacceptable when compared to some European countries where the accident rates are two to four times lower.
It is why the French Association Prévention Routière intends to make child safety a national priority. Therefore, our association calls on everyone to rally around its Manifesto « Zero children killed on our roads » in order to push forward five concrete proposals to secure the safety of children either in cars or on foot.
